A leading European metal recycling company has procured multiple GEOSCAN GOLD elemental analysers from Scantech International Pty Ltd to use in the measurement of received bulk materials; continuously on conveyed flows and statically for bulk packages. Multi-elemental measurements will provide base and precious metals content in addition to non-metal elements present.

Measurement will allow for improved quality management and verification of received material quality, rather than waiting for samples to be assayed by a laboratory with a several week delay. The measurement will occur for up to 10 minutes to allow the precious metal content to be determined with high confidence. Base metals and other elements can be measured accurately over much shorter times. Further sales to several other companies processing scrap materials are imminent.

High performance PGNAA is penetrative of the material and can provide representative measurement for many elements from carbon onwards in the periodic table.
