Towards A Future Circular Economy of NdFeB Rare Earth Magnets

17 Jun 2026
Located in Main Expo Hall 3.0
This presentation discusses the future circular economy of neodymium iron boron magnets, appraising the range of different routes for recycling rare earth magnets, the challenges with the present industrial solutions and an evaluation of the future of this industry and the industrial challenges that are yet to be solved. The challenges the present recycling industry faces with rare earth magnets are examined dealing with magnets on multiple scales from the enormous magnets used in off-shore wind turbines, all the way to tiny earpod magnets used in “earpods”.
