Dr Anne-Karin Søiland

Senior R&D Engineer, Resitec

Dr. Anne-Karin Søiland is a senior R&D Engineer at ReSiTec, she holds a PhD in materials technology from the Norwegian Technical University in Trondheim within material science. She has 15 years’ experience from Elkem Solar later REC Solar in Norway, which developed a metallurgical route for production of solar silicon with low carbon footprint. In that period, she was responsible for several development projects both within product and process development, downstream testing and customer verification. She also has 3 years’ experience from Vianode, a daughter company of Elkem developing and producing anode materials for the Lithium-ion battery industry. Since 2021 she has been working at ReSiTec AS, a company specialized in recycling industrial waste materials, particularly silicon kerf loss from the photovoltaic industry. Her responsibilities cover the development of silicon kerf-based products targeting higher value markets, such as the Lithium-ion batteries.
