Sven Jantzen, born in Aachen, Germany, holds a PhD in Bio-Inorganic Chemistry from the University of Hamburg. After an industrial Post-Doc assignment at Sachtleben Chemie GmbH in Duisburg he joined Umicore in May 1999. Since then he has held various global leadership positions in Essen, Brussels, and Hanau, as member of the management teams of both the group’s international sales organisation and two of its business units. His scope of responsibilities has covered the entire commercial spectrum, technology & innovation, venture line and strategic management. He ran the group’s global commercial excellence program for more than 6 years as global director and lead facilitator. Currently he is holding the position as the group’s director government affairs in Germany.
