Ulrich Kral holds a master and a PhD in civil engineering. He had a research position for waste and resource management at TU Wien from 2010 to 2020, received a Fulbright Grant for research at Yale University in 2019 and was chairing the pan-European Expert Network “Mining the European Anthroposphere” from 2016-2020. In 2021, he joined the Environment Agency Austria, owned by the Republic of Austria. At the agency, he holds an expert position and focuses on the transition towards a sustainable circular economy. As a member of the UNECE Expert Group on Resource Management, he supports the promotion and development of the United Nations Framework Classification for Resources (UNFC).
